I have not seen where you have talked about this, and thought I should share the story and some of my own information with you.
Last week, I attended a counter-rally at the Indiana Statehouse against Moms Demand Action, organized by Indiana Moms Against Gun Control. We talked (civilly) with the opposition, discussed their want for further background check requirements, and were respectful. That being said, we thought it went well.
There were a couple local news outlets there, and we all kept an eye on the news for their reports of the event as we expected them to twist it, as they always do. However, this time it was a pretty fair report for both sides of the argument. I was content with the news coverage until another person who had attended posted this link.
Men With Loaded Rifles Intimidate Moms Gathered At Gun Safety Rally | ThinkProgress
I should also mention I openly carried my AR-15, just like I have at every other rally I have been to in the last few months and am one of the men pictured in that article.
The article claims we were intimidating and bullying the mothers, while not even mentioning we had our own women and children in attendance. I do believe some of the articles even refer to the children pictured being with the opposition, when they were with us. They even include a local news station's report of the event, which shows the complete opposite of what they are claiming in their story. The article blew up within hours and was re-posted by a good number of other pages. I even saw a few celebrities post about it on Twitter. Some of these pages even take such liberties of embellishment to say we were waving our rifles around and circling around the mothers. Neither of these claims are true.
The article linked below went so far as to say we were hiding our identities. Obviously they're top tier reporters. I mean, it's not like our names were listed anywhere in the news reports or other articles.

Before I go any further, I should probably tell you a little about myself; a bio, if you will. I am a moronic, pathetic, intimidating boy of a man with a small penis who should have been aborted. However, since I obviously was not aborted (I wouldn't be writing you if I was), I should either shoot myself or be shot by someone else. Or, at least, that's the summation of just about every post, comment, or Tweet about the article.
If those of us who are mentioned in the article are such intimidating, bullying boy-men, then why is it that you can find information and references to the ThinkProgress article on almost every Moms Demand Action page EXCEPT for the local, Indiana page? They are the group who was there, and if they were truly intimidated and felt bullied, would they not also share the article and post it for everyone to see on their page? Would they not have ran away in fear and terror, and not stayed on the steps of the Statehouse to talk with us? Would they not have approached the three or four Capitol Police who were standing a mere 15-20 feet away and voiced their concerns? It's because none of this nonsense actually happened.
I have sent messages similar to this to other news pages and outlets, but have not received any responses. I have seen small mentions of the article on other Pro-2A pages, but not nearly the same media coverage as the antis are giving it. It even made it to the Rachel Maddow show last night where she further propagated the lies of the article and claimed we were there to shoot our opposition to get our point across. She stated MDA were there exercising their 1st Amendment Right, but completely overlooked and dismissed our abilities to do the same. Here is a link to her show from last night, jump to 10:00.
Rachel Maddow - No place for threats, intimidation in American political discourse - YouTube
I have attended numerous rallies and counter-rallies in the past months, all carrying the same (loaded) rifle. This rally went like every other one I have attended. There was no intimidation going on, and we were polite, respectful, and actually held civil conversations with numerous people who were there with the other group. It bothers me that news outlets will carry this story and not actually check the facts or watch the video from which the article was written.
If you could please read the articles, watch the local news report, and help spread this among the Pro-2A community, I would appreciate it. We need to get the facts out there, and stop the spreading of lies among the anti-gun, Liberal media.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
