Check this out. something new :) very high end knife sheath prototype

now these are a hybrid we have been working on. it takes a lot of time but they look and feel amazing. the mounting options are just as versatile as plain kydex. kydex lined w/ wet formed leather over top. very very cool stuff. we are extremely pleased with it. check it out and let us know what you think. any criticism is welcomed. we aren't doing these for folks yet just based off the time and materials they would be pretty expensive.

    on to the pics

her is a pic of all the materials and different mounting options

the knife w/ molle locks and fire steel loop

    a frontal shot

a different belt loop set up

a pic of the thumb ramp and kydex inside

custom kydex solutions. if you need a holster, sheath, or any other kydex work, pm and we can make it happen. some pics of our work below http://s967.photobucket.com/albums/ae158/gruntsoldier2/

VERY nice. All the appearance of a high quality leather sheath with the security of a kydex inside. You should trademark that. Kydex Inside. I really like that knife too.

Can you do this on holsters to?
I wouldn't recommend sex, drugs or insanity for everyone, but they've always worked for me.

not sure on the cost and we aren't the first to do it. but the main person doing it lives in the netherlands and most american folks don't want to ship him there expensive knives as customs over there is taking a lot of stuff and they aren't required to give it back.

we are going to try it on a pistol here shortly but its a good amount of work. the leather molding takes a couple days on its own so its very time consuming which in turn makes the cost rather high on top of adding in the extra materials but we are looking into it. we will keep everyone up to date as we continue.

thanks for all the comments we appreciate it

Looks sweet. Is there any advantage to this other than cosmetic?

There are a few small advantages in some peoples mind but not much. The leather does quiet down the kydex which some people complain about with their kydex holsters. It also feels nice to the touch and I am able to customize the dyes to make any color one can imagine. We aren't quite ready to offer them for sale yet but when I finish perfecting the leather work we will offer them on a special order type of deal. Since the supplies and time for one of these sheaths is considerably more than with just kydex, a kydex lined leather sheath for a knife like the one pictured will probably end up around $130.00 with all the mounting options included. It is a bit pricey but they are one of a kind hand formed and constructed and should last forever just like our kydex stuff. I personal fell in love with the sheath as I made it and think it is the best sheath I have ever owned. As stated I get all the benefits of the kydex retention and the beauty of a fine leather sheath. It just looks and feels amazing and I couldn't be happier for my first one.

As the proud new owner of this knife and sheath, I must say they offer a one of a kind quality product. I would strongly recommend these guys for your next custom sheath or holster.
