I want that $#@! to get lypo and breast enhancements for public safety reasons. Columbus should pass an ordinance forcing her to do so. It's for the kids.

I don't know if it is considered a ban or not, but it is illegal to discharge an air rifle/bb gun in the town of Ellettsville. I'd actually bet that a lot of places have an ordinance like that, but I'm not sure how strictly it is enforced.

Most City's / Towns have a (semi-ridiculous**) ban on discharging BB guns/ Pellet Guns in town. ... to protect the sheep and chickens from fear ...

I didn't watch the video; just read - they are talking about banning carrying / possessing in public for teens and kids, including air soft, which is a toy more so than a BB gun (or so it would seem)

NY NY has banned them and others (nerf) guns totally, IIRC. Someone got introuble for selling a lighter shaped like a gun. and so our rights get eroded in tiny bits. ...

** this is a qualified answer. meaning:
on Priv.Prop and done safely I see no prob and it should be up to the owner.
Shooting off your own property, at people/cars/critters:
    - - - uhm those have consequences available for 'mis-behavior already ...
    - - - hence my educate, repsonsibilty comment.

My sons friend got a ticket for shooting his airsoft gun in town. I think it has to do with discharging the weapon, not possessing it.

    Current laws yes ^^^^.

proposal - from the article (bold added):
The proposal would prohibit kids from carrying around BB guns in public, because they say they've become a safety hazard.

Keeping kids safe is mom Melanie Bachmeyer's top priority. She agrees with a proposed new ordinance in Columbus to ban BB guns from public display by children and teens.

It would not only prohibit kids under 18 from firing BB guns within city limits, but also prohibit children from showing BB guns, pellet guns and Airsoft rifles in public, at all.

They are talking about toys, airsoft etc. it is a ban on displaying for safety.

what is that that Mr. Franklin said. "Those who surrender liberty for safety shall have neither" (something like that).

Criminently - I ran around an all black (no orange tip) UZI water gun. Had about 6 cause for me an friends.
Back in the day - before 'black guns' - we had chome that all looked real too. we knew better than to point things at 'non-combatants' in our games.

Some fool woman in Greenwood's government wanted to ban ice cream trucks in the city limits for the same reason a few years back. When government people start spouting off about things like this it tells me they have too much money and too much free time. Need to start trimming budget and headcount at city hall.
Too old for this, I'm getting.

When BB guns are the most dangerous threat they have to work on, sounds like their job is finished. They can go home now.

In honor of Liberty, I read Thomas Paine's "Common Sense" this evening and then went out and popped some starlings with a Crossman pellet gun....in city limits.

Oh, I assure you I am well under my own control.

It has been a long time since I drug out the old Crossman pellet gun...I had almost forgotten how fun plinking off some starlings can be. I had almost forgotten how accurate the Crossman can be as well.

Even after all these years, air guns are still plain fun.
