A plain reading of the text of the law would appear sufficient in regard to Americans and lawful residents. As such, his arguments appear to lack weight, and one can speculate that his interests lie more in ratings than anything else.

As far as the law is concerned, Habeas Corpus was reestablished by SCOTUS in 2008, In Re Boumediene. I don't foresee this law as an issue to Americans, but do see it as a real issue for the COTUS.

It's all in the wording or lack there of. Are you saying that if an American citizen is deemed as a terrorist, that they will not be treated as such? Do you really trust our Government and Obama that much? You have more faith then I. I think Waco Texas is a perfect exmaple of what our Government is capable of.

You certainly put more faith into our government than most...So, a good question to ask is if Habeas Corpus was reestablished in 2008, then what about now with the NDAA giving them the authority to detain indefinitely...how restored is it?

I don't trust my government to obey the law.

I'm merely making a statement upon the relevant passages of NDAA.

Although it won't do any good, I wrote comrade lugar and dan turncoats. Spineless larry buschon got a letter too, but he’s not about to take a stand on anything. I don’t expect much from this group of statist weasels.

I’m on good terms with my state rep Jim Baird, he won’t mind if I bend his ear, but connie lawson is a big government drone.

Dan Coats is a jack ass for sure. I like Mike Pence though, I have written him on several occasions. He actually emails me back, not an automated response, and usually sends me a letter as well.

Didn't Pence get caught at Regan Airport with a handgun? He got big ++ from me on that.

As more people became dissatisfied with federal government controls and land grabs, it was inevitable that local law enforcement would eventually see the bigger picture. At the northern California fairgrounds of Yreka last month, seven California sheriffs and another from Oregon gathered with a large group of citizens to say that they are finally going to do something about it.

“A giant has been awakened,” said Plumas County, Calif. Sheriff Greg Hagwood, “and they didn’t count on that,” speaking of the federal bureaucracy.

This is big and should have its own thread.

In the last election for Putnam County Sheriff, there was a Democrat running that really should have been the R candidate. When we posed the question of confiscating firearms on federal orders, the two Rs became visibly uncomfortable and didn’t answer. The D said he would deputize every law abiding gun owner in the county.

Unfortunately, he lost to a federal puppet that uses the war on drugs to hunt on I70 for profit.

I made the comment on FB...said it made me want to become a Sheriff...but does that then mean I'd hate myself

I would have but I used my days off this weekend for my daughters' basketball games. I'll probably be in Laredo trying not to get kidnapped.
